St James' Church

Abinger Common

Faith, Forgiveness & Community

Welcome to our website

We’re glad you found us! We are a friendly rural Parish located within an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Surrey Hills and are part of the Leith Hill Benefice. The Benefice is part of Dorking Rural Deanery within the Diocese of Guildford.

We aim to be a lively, relevant, loving church, that is valuable to God and to our neighbours.

Our church sits within the community it serves and is involved with all that village life has to offer. We offer a wide variety of services from Family Praise and Prayer to the more traditional Book of Common Prayer (see our “Services this month” under the “What’s Happening” tab above).

We look forward to welcoming you, whatever your outlook or experience, age or stage of life. Our beautiful Church is open daily to all so please do come in when you are passing.

If you would like to speak to someone or have any queries, please click on “contact us” and we will be delighted to get back to you.

With every Blessing

Rev’d Kia Pakenham, Rector
