Surrey Hills All Saints Primary School (Abinger Lane, Abinger Common, Dorking, Surrey RH5 6HZ) is set upon two sites within the area of outstanding natural beauty of the Surrey Hills. Our Abinger Common site is home to our Infant children and when reaching Year 3 the children move onto the Westcott site. Both sites have so much on offer for the children. Our Abinger site has outdoor areas connected to each classroom and an onsite copse which is where Forest School sessions take place for children in Reception to Year 2. At the Westcott site, the children have access to a music room, computing suite, nature garden and a running track.
Inspiring children to develop a love of learning; where all aspire to reach their full potential guided by our Christian values.
At Surrey Hills All Saints our inclusive curriculum provides a wealth of experiences to encourage children to be curious; to answer questions that they have about the world around us and to develop a healthy mind and body. Through a range of learning opportunities and wow moments, including the adventures of forest school; exciting off-site experiences, immersive workshops and a wide variety of extra-curricular learning; children thrive in our beautiful, rural environment. Children leave Surrey Hill All Saints with a sense of belonging to a community; where they have developed the knowledge and skills to enjoy a lifelong love of learning within multi-cultural Britain.
Our curriculum is always evolving to meet the needs of our children. We creatively base our teaching strategies on national guidelines and update them regularly. We believe that children learn most effectively when they are actively involved in their education and can benefit from practical learning.
Our curriculum includes Forest School Learning opportunities, on-site nature gardens, interactive school visits from outside experts and active involvement in community, national and international projects.
We encourage our pupils to self-evaluate their work and to ask lots of questions. By practising, consolidating and assessing what they learn, they can facilitate their progress and be challenged by their daily experiences. Homework is an important part of the learning process and it is an essential element of the older children's education at our school.
Rooted in the love of God and others, we believe in ourselves and so will aspire to grow in every part of our lives. We choose to respect and encourage one another and to be responsible citizens in our community and our world.
