Good Neighbours was inaugurated in December 1985 to "provide an emergency car service ... and manned by volunteers, to fill those needs not met by other voluntary and statutory bodies" for those in need. "The service aims to help those in Abinger Common and Abinger Hammer with medical visits of all types...". The proceeding of its meetings (.PDF) can be seen below (originals in Dorking Museum).
The service was disbanded in 2019 as being no longer viable. The remaining scheme funds were donated to SALV (Shere and Local Villages Health Trust).
